Hej,

Ian Trackman, en förgrundsgestalt inom bridgerobotprogrammering har nyligen gått bort.Han ligger bakom Table Manager, som används i WCBC, och det protokoll som används för att kommunicerar med robot programmen.

Han tillsammas med Mike Whittaker skrev bridgeprogrammet Blue Chip Bridge,som var mest populärt i GB. Med Ians död stängdes Blue Chip Bridge Siten och försäljning av BCB upphörde.

Christine Goulden UK har med hjälp av mig och några andra skrivit en minnestext om Ian. Det är nog inte så många som känner till Ian, men det kan finnas några. Så jag publicerar hennes text här:

”Dear All

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of Ian Trackman, who lost his battle with Leukemia at the end of June. For some of you who knew him well, or have already heard this news, sorry this is a bit belated. I know some of you who attended the World Computer Bridge Championships from quite early on, will have known Ian well, which was why I wrote the article. I have only found out in the last couple of weeks, because I had a Blue Chip Bridge question that was picked up by Mike Whittaker who has a presence on the Bridge Winners site, as the official Blue Chip links have been closed down since 2020.
