FESTIVAL 2009

The Bridge Festival will be played at the Conventum Arena in Örebro, Sweden. July 24th - August 2, gold, silver and bronze tournaments every day.

Bridge, a lot of bridge during ten days! Hopefully we will have as wonderful a summer as we had last year.
We have tournaments for everybody including but not limited to handicap tournaments, international team events and Swedish championship finals. Obviously, you can come alone, our partnership agency guarantees a partner for everyone.

Often a bridge week is a matter for the whole family, where all can participate, if not playing bridge you can bath or play golf. During the Swedish Bridge Festival such activities are available. The difference compared to an ordinary bridge week is that this particular arrangement is considerably larger.



Every morning a Daily Bulletin will be available containing news, results, reports and much more from the Bridge Festival.

To participate in the tournaments the players shall sit at the tables when the play starts.
However, for the Chairman’s Cup, teams must notify their participation before July 24th, at 1 o’clock p.m.

Chairman´s Cup

The Chairman’s Cup is an open teams event played at Conventum, Örebro. It starts with a Swiss Teams qualifying and ends with knock-out matches. The name of the event comes from the Chairman of the Swedish Bridge Federation, Mats Qviberg, being the sponsor.
The Chairman’s Cup is played from Saturday 25 July to Thursday 30 July.

The cost of accomodation at the hotels depend on the total number of nights. Contact the hotel of your choice for more information.

In general the prices are about:

• SEK 750 for single or SEK 850 for double when staying only 1 night.
  
• SEK 700 for single or SEK 800 for double when staying 2-4 nights.
  
• SEK 650 for single or SEK 750 for double when staying 5+ nights.

Book and pay for your room before June 15th 2009 and you recieve a 50 SEK discount per room and night. Use the code “BRIDGE09” to get the discounts and special prices.

Travel

By air to Sweden
From Stockholm, 200 km to Örebro, continue by train or rentalcar
From Gothenburg, 300 km to Örebro, continue by train or rentalcar
From Nyköping/Västerås, 150 km to Örebro, continue by train or rentalcar
